Hundreds marched in solidarity with Cuba in downtown Toronto on Sunday across the street from the US consulate. The rally was organized by the Bolivarian Circle Louis Riel Toronto, Canadian Peace Congress, Canadian-Cuban Friendship Association TorontoCommunist Party of Canada, Latin American and Caribbean Solidarity Network, Toronto Association for Peace and Solidarity and others.

Protesters chanted and carried placards demanding an end to the oil embargo and economic blockade. A number of speakers also spoke of the cruel and illegal US measures -- intensified under Donald Trump and Marco Rubio -- as well as calling for the Canadian government, especially in light of Mark Carney's recent speech at Davos, to send immediate humanitarian aid and fuel.

After the rally a People's Tribunal under the slogan "Let Cuba Live!" was held at the United Steelworkers Hall. Future rallies are in the works.
