Vladimir Serov (1910-1968) was a prominent Soviet artist and figure. He was made a People’s Artist of the USSR in 1958, was First Secretary of the Board of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR from 1960-1968 and was a member of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR from 1958-1968. He won numerous other art awards. This is regarded as one of his great works and a classic of socialist realism.
This is the twentieth in our new daily feature that will be looking at over 75 international Lenin photographs, sketches, sculptures, artworks and photographs from a Soviet archive of the early 1970s. Many of these are quite scarce and uncommon now and many are truly amazing works and pieces.
These are divided into art, Lenin centennial posters from 1970 and Lenin photographs.
