May 1st strike preparations escalate across Greece: KKE

The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) reports that hundreds of trade unions, mass organizations, pensioners’ unions, women’s associations, students’ unions, etc., are stepping up their call to the people for mass participation in the strike and the May Day rallies. The preparation and organization of the strike is carried out through hundreds of campaigns in factories and other workplaces, meetings of the trade unions and mass organizations, events in working-class neighbourhoods, etc., in order to spread the slogan of this year’s May Day: “No sacrifices for the profits of the business groups and the war hawks”.

Strike rallies are planned for May 1st in Athens, Thessaloniki and a total of 78 cities across Greece.
