PCC delegation in France for solidarity visit

Paris, September 10, 2026: The delegation from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), led by Marydé Fernández López, head of the Office of Attention to the UJC and Mass Organizations, continued its visit to France for the 91st edition of the Fête de l'Humanité. On their second day, they engaged in important exchanges that reinforced the spirit of solidarity with the Cuban people.

In the morning, she had a friendly meeting with Senator Pascal Savoldelli, a member of the Communist Group in the Senate and vice president of its Finance Committee. He was briefed on the effects of the United States government's aggressive escalation, including two executive orders with strong extraterritorial implications. Gratitude was also expressed for his solidarity initiatives toward our country. The meeting concluded with a tour of the Senate headquarters.

In the afternoon the delegation was received by Laurent Brun, deputy head of the General Confederation of Labor (CGT).During the friendly exchange, sincere condolences were offered to him for the recent passing of his friend Sebastian Viscuso, who did remarkable work in Cuba. The enormous opportunities to strengthen the long-standing friendship and cooperation with the Workers' Central Union of Cuba (CTC), especially in this challenging time of imperialist aggression, were also discussed.

To wrap up the productive day, they visited the city of Malakoff, where they were welcomed by Mayor Sonia Figueres, along with leaders of the French Communist Party, the General Confederation of Labor, the coordinator of Cuban residents, and other Cuban solidarity organizations. During the heartfelt meeting, attendees discussed various support initiatives they had organized in their respective areas and reaffirmed their strong commitment to continue strengthening solidarity with Cuba. On behalf of the Central Committee of the PCC, they were thanked for this solidarity and the need to continue with this important work was highlighted.
