Smashed Parmesan Brussels Sprouts

Today we are going to take a look at a terrific side dish or gameday/party snack, smashed parmesan Brussels sprouts. These are very easy to make and very tasty. They are also vegetarian.

To start you want to take your Brussels sprouts and boil them for around 8 minutes in salted water until tender.

After they have been boiled place the sprouts in a bowl of ice water to cool.

Then transfer them to a baking pan lined with parchment paper.

Using a large spoon, spatula or even a mason jar, push down on each sprout "smashing" them, flattening them down.

Then drizzle some olive oil over them.

Season them very liberally (or to taste) with salt, pepper and garlic powder.

Then sprinkle grated parmesan cheese over them.

Finally sprinkle some hot chili flakes over top. I like to use a lot of chili flakes to give it some kick.

Place the tray and sprouts in an oven preheated to 425. If you have a convection or air fry function, use it.

Bake until crispy and the cheese is melted to your liking, around 15 minutes.

Let stand 2 or 3 minutes.

Enjoy with beer, wine and friends!
