Solidarity with Cuba at the French Communist Fête de l'Humanité

Paris, September 12, 2026: The Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) delegation, led by Marydé Fernández López, a Central Committee member and deputy to the National Assembly of People's Power, put together an intense work program for the 91st edition of the Fête de l'Humanité.

The day started with the opening of the Village du Monde, where Fabian Gay, the director of the newspaper L'Humanite and a senator of the French Communist Party (PCF), delivered the keynote speech. In his address, he strongly criticized the economic, commercial, and financial blockade of Cuba, as well as the energy siege enforced by the United States government.

The delegation also took part in an emotional event in solidarity with the Cuban people, opposing the intensification of the blockade, organized by the Cuba Linda Association. They discussed the challenging situation our country is experiencing due to the effects of the executive orders and emphasized the significance of the French people's solidarity and support in the current context.

In the afternoon, the France-Cuba Association hosted a discussion where participants once again discussed the massive impacts of the United States government’s aggressive escalation against the Cuban people and condemned the effects of the tightened blockade on all areas of the country.

A special highlight of the day was the debate at the Granma-Cuba Cooperation stand, titled: "Cuba Today, the Revolution in the Face of the Intensified Blockade". During this event, the extraterritorial nature of this harmful policy was condemned, and the importance of strongly denouncing it was emphasized.

The night was extraordinarily emotional. Cuba's voice resonated strongly in the Agora space, with the presence of Fabien Gay and Aleida Guevara. With deep emotion, the genocidal blockade was condemned, Cuba's resistance was recognized and the solidarity of the French people was gratefully acknowledged.
