Solidarity with Raúl Castro – ¡No pasarán!

Declaration by the Central Committee of the Party of Labour of Austria (PdA) on the arrest warrant issued by the corrupt US judiciary against the former Cuban President. Vienna, 22 May 2026.

At the behest of US President Donald Trump, the judiciary of the United States of America has issued a fabricated arrest warrant against the former President and, to this day, a significant leader of the Cuban Revolution, Raúl Castro.

The US has been obstructing Cuba’s development in every conceivable way since the 1959 revolution; it has always used methods of state terrorism, and in recent months has been attempting to completely strangle Cuba economically and socially through the oil blockade.

It seems that Washington believes it can repeat the Venezuelan scenario in Cuba. Since the criminal abduction of the Venezuelan president, a US-controlled regime has been ruling in Caracas, with which Trump can do as he wishes.

The PdA is convinced that there will be no second Delcy Rodríguez in Cuba who is prepared to betray her own country. Fueled by the descendants of former exploiters and colonial masters in Miami, the US government has for some time been escalating its rhetoric and coercive measures against Cuba.

If anyone belongs in prison, it is not Raúl Castro—a respected revolutionary throughout the progressive world—but Donald Trump and his corrupt, war-obsessed gang. Whilst Castro, like his brother Fidel and many other people in Cuba, has dedicated his entire life to the welfare of his people, Trump serves solely his own enrichment, his billionaire friends and the US military-industrial complex.

The Party of Labour wishes Raúl Castro, who celebrates his 95th birthday on 3 June, good health, all the best, creative energy and, as always, the iron will for revolutionary struggle that has distinguished him throughout his life.
