The Communist Party of Swaziland salutes the students, workers, and youth of France who have taken to the streets against the high cost of living and the rotten system that imposes it. Their struggle is legitimate and the rebellion is necessary.

We have watched the images from Paris, Marseille, Lyon, and Limoges. We have seen the tear gas, the water cannons, the burning barricades, and the truncheons of the state. We have seen a government that responds to demands for decent schools and a living wage with 1,800 arrests and 1,200 detained protesters . This is not "republican order." This is the violence of a dying capitalist system terrified of the working class.

The French state tells the working class of France to tighten your belts while the rich gorge themselves. Here in Swaziland, the absolute monarchy of Mswati III tells our workers and youth the same lie. While French students demand teachers and safe buildings, our students face a feudal education system designed to produce obedient subjects for the tinkhundla regime. While French workers struggle to afford fuel and food, Swazi workers watch the royal family and its foreign capitalist partners loot the national treasury, increase fuel and transport cost by 20% while over 70 percent of our people live below the poverty line . We call our people in Swaziland to do like you do, stand up and reject the high cost, reject the system that imposes itself and interests against the people.

The high cost of living is not an accident. It is not a "global phenomenon" beyond human control. It is the deliberate policy of a system that prioritizes profit over human life. Whether in Paris or in Mbabane.

The CPS condemns in the strongest terms the Macron government's violent suppression of peaceful protest. The mass arrests, the targeting of minors, the police charges against students. These are the desperate measures of a ruling class that has nothing to offer but austerity and repression . We call on French workers and youth to reject the lies of the ruling class and to deepen your struggle.

The fight against the high cost of living is intrinsically linked with the struggle against imperialism and for genuine democracy everywhere. The same global capitalist system that squeezes French workers also sustains the Mswati dictatorship, which serves foreign capital while crushing our people at home. Your struggle weakens the chain of oppression everywhere.

The CPS stands firmly with the youth and working class , progressive and left forces of France. Your struggle like ours and elsewhere in the world, does not ask for your sympathy, it demands solidarity. The emancipation of the working class is the task of the working class itself; but no national struggle can triumph without internationalist unity.

Down with the high cost of living!

Down with capitalist exploitation and state repression!

Long live the fighting solidarity of the workers and youth of France and Swaziland!

Forward to socialism!
