Swazi Communists condemn Mswati’s reckless alignment with Taiwan

The Communist Party of Swaziland (CPS) condemns Mswati’s continued diplomatic recognition and alignment with Taiwan, as observed in his address at the United Nations General Assembly 81st session, an act that constitutes flagrant interference in China's internal affairs and a grave disservice to the Swazi people.
This alignment represents not the will of our people, but the despotic whims of an absolute monarchy that prioritises its own survival over the genuine welfare and sovereignty of Swaziland
Mswati’s recognition of Taiwan directly violates the One-China principle, enshrined in United Nations resolutions and accepted by the international community
This decision constitutes reckless interference in China's internal affairs and undermines the foundational principles of international law
The absolute monarchy's actions pose a threat to regional peace and stability and isolate Swaziland from the broader international consensus.
Taiwan is an integral and inseparable part of the People's Republic of China. Attempts to separate it are acts of separatism that no sovereign nation should support.
The regime's diplomatic missteps have resulted in increasing economic isolation and diminished international standing. This isolation is a direct consequence of poor strategic choices made by the monarchy in pursuit of narrow political survival against popular demands for democracy.
Lavish expenditures on failed diplomacy: the monarchy has squandered national resources on diplomatic missions, including deploying royal children to forge ties and distributing extravagant gifts, all financed by the Swazi taxpayer.
Swaziland’s alignment with Taiwan has alienated potential allies and economic partners who respect the One-China principle.
Long-term costs to future generations by short-sighted decisions that benefit the monarchy today will impose devastating economic and diplomatic costs on future generations of Swazi citizens.
The people of Swaziland cannot afford to bear the burden of the monarchy's obsession with recognising Taiwan separatists.
Mswati’s alignment with Taiwan does not reflect the aspirations, will, or desires of the Swazi people. This decision represents the monarchy's unilateral imposition of its political agenda upon a nation that has never been consulted.
The tinkhundla regime operates without democratic mandate or popular consent. The people have been denied the right to participate in decisions that fundamentally affect their nation's future.
CPS calls upon all people of Swaziland inside and in the diaspora to unite in the struggle for democracy and recognise that governance must reflect the aspirations of the people, not the whims of an absolute monarchy.
We must unite and reject the regime's reckless actions and make clear that the Swazi people's quarrel is not with the people of Taiwan, but with an autocratic monarchy that sacrifices national interests for regime survival.
People must demand accountability and hold the monarchy responsible for the economic and diplomatic consequences of its strategic failures.
We must unite and engage in meaningful national dialogue, participate in the struggle for democracy, a process that will establish a government truly representative of the Swazi people's will and interests.
People must support the dismantling of tinkhundla. The absolute monarchy is incompatible with national sovereignty, economic prosperity, and the dignity of the Swazi people.
The CPS calls upon the international community to intensify diplomatic and economic isolation of the unholy alliance between the Taiwan administration and the absolute monarchy of Mswati.
We call upon the international community to support democratic movements in Swaziland that seek to establish representative governance.
The international community must continue to respect the One-China principle and cease recognition of regimes that undermine international law and stability.
The Communist Party of Swaziland stands with the Swazi people in their struggle for democracy, economic justice, and genuine national sovereignty. We reject the monarchy's claim to represent our nation's interests.
The time for change is now. The people must be heard.
