The Ninth Plenum of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba begins

From today, (December 12) until tomorrow, the Ninth Plenum of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba will be held in Havana, at which crucial issues for the future of Cuba's economy and society will be addressed.


The members of the Party's highest leadership body between Congresses will evaluate the fulfillment of the Government's projections and discuss strategies to deal with deviations and negative trends in society.


Other topics on which participants will focus are the revision of economic projections, the Economic Plan and the Budget for 2025, as well as attention to state and non-state economic actors.


The meeting also plans to evaluate the fulfillment of the projections to correct distortions and boost the economy through the search for effective solutions.


The plenary session will also include reviewing the Politburo's accountability for its recent work and decisions, thus reaffirming the Party's commitment to the oversight of the country's main programs and priorities.
