Third International Meeting of Theoretical Publications of Leftist Parties and Movements calls for united front against fascism

The Third International Meeting of Theoretical Publications of Leftist Parties and Movements concluded with a call for all progressive forces worldwide to unite in a great political, cultural, and media front against the rise of the fascist and genocidal ultra-right. This event took place this week and included participation from over a hundred leaders and activists from parties, social movements, and their media outlets.

Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, presided over the event's conclusion at the University of the Communist Party of Cuba Ñico López. Delegates from over 30 countries across all continents participated. Roberto Morales Ojeda, a member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee, was also present.

The forum concluded with the reading of a Final Declaration that expressed solidarity with the causes of Palestine, Venezuela and Cuba, victims of aggression, genocide and blockades.

Upon President Díaz-Canel's suggestion, it was decided to establish an international network of critical and independent publications. This network is designed as a political tool dedicated to ideological unity, highlighting our struggles, and contributing to the development of future generations.

"Our publications, networks, and voices have the power not only to denounce but also to shape the visions of a possible future, envisioning a horizon of peace, social justice, and sovereignty for our peoples." says the statement, which was read by journalist Patricia Villegas, president of the multiplatform Telesur.

"Let's us work together to ensure that new hope flourishes in every place where the left thinks, fights, and believes.," she said.

The participants of the Meeting urged the global left to bring to life, on the 100th anniversary of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz's birth, his statement that "as long as there is imperialism and as long as there are peoples who are victims of imperialist aggression and as long as there are peoples fighting against imperialism, their cause will be our cause in any corner of the world."

The Final Declaration of the Third International Meeting of Theoretical Publications of Leftist Parties and Movements emphasized this as the duty of the left. At the event's conclusion, the 2024-2025 Special Issue of the magazine Cuba Socialista, the theoretical and political publication of the Central Committee of the PCC, was also presented.
