Statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, (translated from the Spanish)

The Cuban government reiterates its deep concern and warns of the imminent risk of an escalation of Israel's war against the Islamic Republic of Iran, the threat of direct US aggression, and the danger of the conflict turning nuclear or of radioactive leaks with disastrous and devastating consequences for humanity.

We call on the American people and the international community to demand an immediate halt to the military aggression against Iran, now in its seventh day, given the potential involvement of the U.S. government, whose financial, political, and military support for Israel, threatening statements, and recent deployment of military force in the region act as a destabilizing factor and represent a dangerous escalation of the conflict.

Cuba reiterates its full solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran and recalls the disastrous consequences of previous military interventions in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya, which left a trail of chaos, violence, and insecurity in those countries and in the region.

We urgently call for peace through dialogue and negotiations without preconditions or pressure.

Cuba supports the Declaration issued by the Non-Aligned Movement and urges the United Nations General Assembly and Security Council to exercise their primary responsibility to maintain international peace and security, to immediately put an end to this aggression, to the impunity with which the Zionist regime operates, and to act tirelessly to restore peace.

Israel's attacks on Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities, in flagrant violation of international law, and its harm to civilians in violation of international humanitarian law, must cease immediately.

The Cuban Embassy in Iran continues to operate, complying with the necessary protective measures for exceptional situations and providing ongoing care to Cubans residing in Iran. Women and children from our diplomatic mission were evacuated, along with three Cubans residing in Tehran.

At this precarious moment in history, Cuba reiterates that only a comprehensive, just, and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict can bring peace to the Middle East.

We must act with the urgency and determination that the moment demands. Tomorrow will be too late.

Havana, June 19, 2025.
