LET'S DENOUNCE THIS ACT OF IMPERIAL PIRACY!

Declaration of the Cuban Delegation to the People's Assembly for Sovereignty and Peace in Our America

The Cuban delegation participating in the People's Assembly for Sovereignty and Peace in Our America wants to publicly declare its support for the Communiqué of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela denouncing "the brazen theft and the act of international piracy" that was the assault and seizure of a Venezuelan oil tanker in the Caribbean Sea.

Our delegation denounces this significant escalation in aggression by the United States government against Venezuela, coinciding with the recent announcement of the United States National Security Strategy. This strategy, 200 years after its inception, revives the detestable Monroe Doctrine, now framed within the so-called "Trump Corollary".

As the Bolivarian Communiqué states, the real aim of the imperial attack on Venezuela has been uncovered: an obsessive desire to seize its natural resources. This demonstrates everything the declining Empire is prepared to do to enforce its agenda and interests against our peoples, as it refuses to accept the inevitable rise of a multipolar international order.

We urge all principled movements, organizations, and individuals in the region and around the world to unite in condemning this disgrace.
