Cuba denounces "cowardly US aggression" against Venezuela

The Revolutionary Government condemns in the strongest terms the military aggression of the United States against Venezuela, while categorically reiterating Cuba's absolute support and solidarity with the sister Bolivarian Republic and its government. It supports the speech of the Executive Vice President, comrade Delcy Rodríguez and supports her demand that the government of the United States provide proof of the well-being of the constitutional president Nicolás Maduro Moros and comrade Cilia Flores, along with the resolve of the Bolivarian and Chavista government, and its citizens to oppose aggression and defend their independence and sovereignty.

The cowardly US aggression is a criminal act, in violation of International Law and the UN Charter. This marks a dangerous escalation in the long-standing war campaign by the United States against that sister nation, which has intensified since September 2025 with an aggressive naval deployment in the Caribbean Sea, based on false pretexts and unproven accusations.

Cuba emphatically demands the immediate release by the U.S. authorities of President Nicolás Maduro Moros and comrade Cilia Flores.

It’s a blatant case of imperialist and fascist aggression aimed at domination, seeking to revive U.S. hegemonic ambitions over Our America, rooted in the Monroe Doctrine, with the goal of gaining unrestricted access and control over Venezuela’s and the region’s natural resources. It also seeks to intimidate and subjugate the governments of Latin America and the Caribbean.

The consequences of this irresponsible act remain to be seen. The U.S. government, along with President Donald Trump, his Secretary of State, and the hostile forces and adversaries of Latin America and the Caribbean who have gained significant political influence there, are fully responsible for the loss of life and the human and material damage already inflicted, as well as any that may result from this aggression.

The governments of the region, on behalf of their peoples, unanimously signed in January 2014, in Havana, the Proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace, an aspiration that today is under attack by the United States.

The international community cannot allow an aggression of this nature and gravity against a UN Member State to go unpunished - kidnapping the legitimate, sitting president of a sovereign nation through a military operation must have consequences. Venezuela is a peaceful country, which has not attacked the United States, or any other nation.

For that sister nation and its people, we are prepared to offer, just as we would for Cuba, even our own blood.

The Revolutionary Government calls on all governments, parliaments, social movements and peoples of the world to condemn the military aggression of the United States against Venezuela, and to confront this act of State terrorism that threatens international peace and security, and aims to impose a new doctrine U.S. imperialist domination around the world and in Latin America and the Caribbean in particular.

All nations in the region must be vigilant, as the threat hangs over them all. In Cuba, our determination to fight is firm and unwavering. There is only one path: Homeland or Death.
