DPRK honours 50th anniversary of socialist constitution

December 27 marks the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the Juche-oriented Socialist Constitution by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK). A ceremony was held on Monday at the Mansudae Assembly Hall.


Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK attended.

According to the Korean Central News Agency:


Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK, first vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly, made a report "Let's powerfully promote the building and comprehensive development of state law by holding fast to the Socialist Constitution of Juche as the only weapon."
Choe Ryong Hae said that the Socialist Constitution of the DPRK worked out by President Kim Il Sung is the most popular and revolutionary code embodying the immortal Juche idea and an original political charter unprecedented in the world history of constitution.

He also called "for more dynamically struggling for the eternal prosperity of our great country, our noble idea and our sacred cause...saying that it is a great honor and pride of our state and people to have the great political charter to firmly support Korean-style socialism and push it to realizing the far-reaching ideal until the day of building a communist society."
