“Greece 2030 – a land of high prices, insecurity and war, or of social prosperity, peace and cooperation among peoples?” emphasized the Attica Party Organisation of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), which on Saturday October 10 held protest events outside 100 supermarkets in the wider area of the Greek capital (Attica), highlighting the KKE’s proposals for providing substantial relief to the people, such as:

  • The abolition of VAT on food and basic consumer goods.

  • The abolition of the excise tax on electricity, fuel, water and telecommunications. The abolition of the excise tax on heating oil and natural gas for domestic use.

  • The imposition of price caps on energy, food and basic consumer goods. Caps on corporate profits.

  • An increase in wages and pensions.

  • For the people to gain even a modicum of real relief, capital must lose!

Similar interventions have also been made by the Central Macedonia Party Organization of the KKE.
