Once again, Havana has become the capital of the struggle for just causes. 969 people have gathered there for the International Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba, Anti-imperialism and Against the Resurgence of Fascism. An event that, according to the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) Central Committee and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, consolidates the city's position as a space for unity and the defense of social justice around the world.
Coming from 39 countries, the delegates participated in the massive parade that the people of the capital staged in defense of the Homeland and the Revolution the previous day.
Also present at the event were Political Bureau member and Organization Secretary Roberto Morales Ojeda, who said that this meeting demonstrated that Fidel's homeland is not alone, and that its people and government continue to champion noble and humanist causes.
During his remarks, the First Secretary thanked those present for being Cuba's voice to the world, for their support in difficult times, and invited them to look to history for the elements to confront the fascism that is reemerging with renewed strength.
"Cuba and its Revolution will stand firm against all attempts to destroy it. We will do so with your support," the President of the Republic said.

This demonstration takes place at a time of great adversity, engineered by the United States government, which impacts the living conditions of Cubans, said Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Carlos Fernández de Cossío.
During his speech, Cossío denounced the existence of a ruling class in the United States that believes it has the right to dictate Cuba's destiny, and said that this explains its aggression toward that nation. He also stated that what Cuba has achieved in terms of justice and social achievements are dreams for many countries around the world. However, their development is being hampered by the economic war.

Meanwhile, several of the attendees agreed that the embargo on the Caribbean nation must end, that it must be removed from the list of state sponsors of terrorism, and that the occupied territory of Guantánamo must be returned.
For his part, the Hero of the Republic of Cuba and president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, Fernando González Llort, reaffirmed Cuba's unwavering commitment to peace, sovereignty, and the self-defense of its peoples. "We firmly believe in solidarity, which, along with unity, is the answer to the aggression of the elites who privatize and murder millions with impunity."
Among those attending was Carolina Rangel Gracida, Secretary General of the Mexican MORENA party, who expressed her gratitude for the role Cuban doctors play in her country and called for participation in the Latin American and Caribbean Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba, to be held next October in that nation.

Other interventions also focused on the need to defend Cuba's truth on social media, as part of countering the media war that attempts to confuse and manipulate the reality of the country
During the day, two statements were presented: one in solidarity with Cuba and the other in support of the Palestinian cause. These are below.
International Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba, Anti-imperialism and Against the Resurgence of Fascism, Havana, May 2, 2025
We, the 900 delegates to the Anti-Fascist and Anti-Imperialist Solidarity Meeting, from 39 countries, inspired by Martí's conviction that "Homeland is humanity," by the thought and actions of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, and by the unwavering struggle of anti-imperialist peoples and leaders in defense of sovereignty and the right to build a democratic and sustainable world and a socialist state, based on the principles of justice and social equity;
Convinced that exercising solidarity among peoples is the only way to confront the advance of neo-fascism;
Aware that the international trade union movement plays a significant role in defending comradeship among workers and trade unions around the world;
Inspired by the resilience of the Cuban people, who have faced, for more than six decades, a strict economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States as the main tool of imperialism to try to subdue Cuba's independent, altruistic, socialist, and internationalist spirit;
We reaffirm our commitment to:
1. Denounce, in all spaces and by all possible means, the act of genocide that is the economic, commercial, and financial blockade; and its extraterritorial nature, which affects third countries, and demand the unconditional end of this economic war, which continues to be the main obstacle to Cuba's development and which has caused, especially in recent years with its intensification, the deterioration of basic services such as health, food, education, electricity, public transportation, food production, and medicine, benefits that have been available to Cubans since 1959.
2. Demand that Cuba be removed from the spurious list of states that allegedly sponsor terrorism. Disclose the deterrent and intimidating nature of this unjust measure, which increases the hardships and limitations already imposed on the Cuban people by the blockade and punishes individuals and organizations that maintain legitimate relations with Cuba. The only list Cuba should appear on is that of states sponsoring peace and international solidarity.
3. Combat the false narratives about Cuba promoted by the mainstream media, which silence the social achievements and examples of solidarity that Cuba offers to the world in an attempt to justify the criminal economic warfare measures suffered by the Cuban people. In particular, demand the immediate cessation of media manipulation and measures against Cuban medical missions and the governments of the countries where they work. Reject the criminalization of the solidarity of those who save thousands of lives in situations of natural disasters, epidemics, and other crises on all continents. Continue to demand public access to accurate, impartial, and truthful information about Cuba and its Revolution.
4. Demand payment of fair economic compensation from the United States government to the Cuban people for the economic and human damages due to the criminal practice of the blockade and terrorism, which currently amounts to more than $1.3 trillion.
5. Demand the return of the territory illegally occupied by the United States in Guantánamo Bay, used as a detention and torture center. Likewise, demand that the United States assume the cost of environmental remediation, the removal of all landmines from the land surrounding Guantánamo Bay, and the withdrawal of all its facilities from Cuban territory.
6. Reject the double standards and politicization of human rights and democracy, which have been used to subvert democratically elected governments. Demand an end to U.S. funds allocated to multi-million dollar interference programs, media outlets, organizations, and digital communication platforms that, under false pretexts and with the real objectives of domination, undermine Cuba's constitutional order in an attempt to overthrow the Revolution.
7. Strengthen and expand the solidarity movement with Cuba in all regions, promoting broad participation of all forces, organizations, and individuals of goodwill who express genuine sympathy for Cuba.
8. Promote material solidarity by sending donations, implementing cooperation projects, and participating in international solidarity events with Cuba.
9. Promote the movement of international solidarity brigades with Cuba and visits by specialized groups. There is no better way to understand the Cuban reality than by sharing it with its people, witnessing their resilience, creativity, and spirit of struggle and victory.
10. Defend and disseminate the humanist ideals of the Cuban Revolution and the ethical and political legacy of its historic leader, Fidel Castro Ruz, in the context of the centennial of his birth, to be commemorated in August 2026.
From this Anti-Fascist and Anti-Imperialist Solidarity Meeting, we declare NO to war, hegemony, and interference. NO to coercive measures, aggression, the construction of walls, and blockades.
In the face of the imperialist and fascist offensive, we speak with one united and energetic voice:
Socialist Cuba has the right to exist!
No more blockade!
Long live internationalism and peace!
Havana, May 2, 2025.
“Year 67 of the Revolution.”
The more than 900 participants in the International Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba, Anti-imperialism, and Against the Resurgence of Fascism reaffirm our strongest solidarity and support for the heroic people of Palestine.
We denounce before history the crime being committed. The genocide of which the Palestinian people are victims is an open wound on the conscience of humanity.
Frequent acts of violence against the Palestinian civilian population include bombings, burning of displaced persons and refugee camps, indiscriminate attacks on hospitals and ambulances, total destruction of schools and universities, construction of new settlements, among other unspeakable outrages. The death toll since October 7, 2023, has reached 51,355, and the number of injured is 117,248. More than 15,000 children have died and another 34,000 have been injured. More than one million minors have been forcibly displaced and survive in inhumane conditions, without access to drinking water, food, shelter, and medical care. The number of prisoners in Israeli jails exceeds 9,000, including 350 children and 80 women, who suffer all types of violations contrary to international humanitarian law. Thousands of them are held without the right to a lawyer or a fair trial, under administrative detention.
Israel's criminality has gone so far as to weaponize hunger, thirst, and the need for medicine due to a cruel blockade that prevents the entry of humanitarian aid, which will increase the number of deaths from malnutrition, diseases, and preventable illnesses. All of this, with the declared objective of annihilating the indigenous people of Palestine, erasing their history and their identity as a nation. Apartheid, humiliation, ethnocide, and genocide are what humanity is witnessing.
Let us not be confused: this is not a "war," it is an extermination before the eyes of the world. It is the same horror of fascism, which we believed defeated on May 9, 1945, which is repeated today with greater brutality, using new weapons: the media that spread deceit and lies to cover up the crimes of the Israeli occupation, responsible for mass murder, with the cowardly and criminal complicity of the United States government and its allies. Zionism and Imperialism are responsible for the ongoing massacre in Palestine and are also a threat to all humanity.
Donald Trump's decisions to displace Palestinians to other territories in the region have been a false way of diverting public attention. More recently, his sordid and heartless plans for the reconstruction of Gaza are the most convincing example of his violation of and disrespect for international law, international humanitarian law, human rights, and his contempt for the human condition.
We strongly condemn the 77-year-old occupation and genocide that Israel has been committing against Palestine, whose resistance defends the legitimate rights of its noble people. Every moment of inaction and passivity will cost more innocent lives. We must act immediately to stop the war crimes and extermination against the Palestinian people.
We demand a ceasefire and the immediate entry of humanitarian aid, the release of all prisoners, and an end to the occupation. We call, more forcefully than ever, for action in the streets, for countering indifference, and for awareness that we must not rest until we achieve recognition of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state, fully integrated into the United Nations. There will be no silence until the heroic people of Palestine achieve their definitive freedom, self-determination, and national sovereignty, as well as the right of return for all refugees.
Murder and destruction will never be the solution when an entire people has stood up its very existence and will not and will never surrender.
May 15th will mark the 77th anniversary of the Nakba, and June 5th will mark the 58th anniversary of the occupation of Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem—two dates we must not overlook. Let us awaken the memory of the people by mobilizing around the world in every way possible.
Palestine has the right to life and peace!
Down with Zionism!
Long live international solidarity!
Long live peace and friendship among peoples!
Long live Free Palestine!
