Statement on the Fifth Anniversary of the June 2021 Massacre of Swazi Protestors by the

Royal Security Forces

We in Friends of Swazi Freedom reaffirm our militant solidarity with the struggling masses of Swaziland today on the hallowed fifth anniversary of the June Massacre. Five years ago today the June 2021 uprising against the bankrupt and brutal monarchical regime of King Mswati III was in full swing. Emanating from the oppression bred by an exploitative neocolonial economy, combined with the murder of Thabani Nkomonye by the police forces of Mswati, the masses of Swaziland refused to remain silent. Following the lead of the working class and oppressed masses worldwide which were in struggle against state terrorism from the USA to Nigeria just a few months prior, the toiling masses of Swaziland were emboldened and ready to claim their humanity upon the world stage.

This June Uprising shook the royal regime to its core and sent shockwaves throughout the world, from Southern Africa, Taiwan and the Euro-American imperial core. In the face of the just fury of the Swazi nation the so-called Lion cowered in fear. True to his real form as a running dog of imperialism he sought refuge from his Euro-American imperialist sponsors and his Taiwanese sub-imperial allies to aid him and the feudal-capitalist class to crush this uprising for democracy, for liberation. Garnering such support and military backing from Taiwan, on June 29th the regime unleashed its security forces and paramilitaries upon the struggling masses. This massacre, this brutal example of state terrorism led to hundreds of Swazi martyrs. Today, we join the Swazi nation in remembering and mourning these martyrs, these exemplars of the best of the Swazi nation, who gave their lives in the hopes that future generations would live in a liberated Swaziland. A Swaziland in which the people, led by the working class are the sovereign rulers, not some parasitic Royals who only represent the interests of domestic feudal-capitalists who work with the Euro-American imperialist class and its proxies to exploit the labor power of the Swazi proletariat.

On this day we in Friends of Swazi Freedom send our militant solidarity to the Swazi nation and reaffirm the necessity to build a united, revolutionary anti-imperialist movement worldwide to aid the struggle in Swaziland. This task remains at the core of our organization and must be complete, any less is a continuous betrayal of the Swazi nation by the world and the betrayal of the principles of proletarian internationalism.

Glory to the Swazi Martyrs of June 29, 2021!

Down With the Tinkhundla Regime!

Amandla!

In Revolutionary Solidarity,

Jason Cohen
