During the past week, the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) hosted two important events: the Third International Meeting of Theoretical Publications of Leftist Parties and Movements and the First International Granma Rebelde Festival.
Emilio Lozada García, a member of the Party's Central Committee and head of the Department of International Relations, stated to the press that the substantial international participation in these forums holds profound significance for the Party and progressive forces worldwide.
He added that, in a complex international context, marked by the growing threats of the Trump administration against Venezuela – which include possible covert operations of the CIA in Venezuelan territory – and by the genocide of the Palestinian people that has claimed around 70,000 victims, these events stand as a fundamental contribution to the unity of the left and progressive movements.
They constitute a vital space to collectively face these challenges.
Lozada García noted that the involvement of over 35 political parties, primarily left-wing and progressive, showcases not only the PCC's international influence but also facilitates the strengthening of ties with a diverse array of political forces across all continents.
Among the delegations in attendance, he said, were representatives of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Communist Party of China, African organizations such as the MPLA of Angola and FRELIMO of Mozambique, and from the Americas, such as the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), which wages a ceaseless struggle against imperialist aggression.
He emphasized that the meetings conducted in the Central Committee have enabled the signing of various documents and agreements that strengthen the PCC's ties with its counterparts.
Notably, a roadmap was signed with the Belaya Rus party of Belarus to implement the exchange and cooperation agreement signed in June in Minsk during the visit of the First Secretary of the Central Committee and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel.
Similarly, he confirmed that agreements for exchange and cooperation were signed with the Communist Party of Türkiye and the Mozambican Liberation Front (FRELIMO) to strengthen relations between these political forces.
In summary, he stated that these events have acted as a strong means of fostering solidarity, cooperation, and reinforcing the anti-imperialist struggle during a critical period globally.
