The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) reports that students at Panteion University in Athens, Greece organized a protest, declaring their refusal to adapt their studies to facilitate the Greek government's preparations for war. At the rally they chanted slogans like: “Panteion University must not become a training ground for war – no one must be complicit in crime”.

The catalyst was the war seminar organized by the Institute of International Relations (IDIS) of the University, entitled “War in the modern world: Strategy, weapon systems, and tactics”. This is the institute that organized the Athens Security Forum in November 2025, under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in collaboration with “institutional partners” including NATO itself.

It is noteworthy that the students who responded to the call of their Student Union, demanding the cancellation of the war seminar, were met not by IDIS staff but by police forces.
